Thank you for visiting. Glance over 'Meet The Family' below to catch a glimpse of the general landscape around here. Indulge me with a comment and I promise to try to visit you in return. And do call by again - life is always richer for sharing. I hope Life Is Good To You, now and always.
Top 5 - for which I give Thanks
1. TH ( The Hubby) 2. Singing. 3. Sunshine (if I can remember that far back). 4. Friendship. 5. An Unexpected Smile. (ok 6. AND Yellow - as 1-5 won't change colour !)
Feels like ‘5 going on 40’ most of the time, probably ’40-ish’ on a Good Day, and ’50-ish’ on a Not-So-Good-Day.
Just now,'Re-Invention' , 'Re-Creation' and 'Discovery' are my Life Requirements, assimilating a new employment format, opening Another Chapter Of Life, and stirring the pot to add another recipe or two to Life's Rich Menu.
I guess there'll be more burnt bits, half-baked bits, chewy bits and lumpy bits along the way.
Of Such Is Life.
The first blog is utensil, kitchen and cooker for the sauce and trapped air of Souffle.
Other bits and pieces get stirred into Risotto.
Of Prime Importance (‘cos he's Gorgeous, AND still pays the bills), is The Hubby(TH). He is one of those people you meet who you remember. Especially his chuckle. I carelessly misplaced him at a large gathering. He was running the bar, but taking time out with camera to record the proceedings. An' I lost him......there was absolutely no sign of him – I tried the hall next door, outside, the loo (you know how it goes) – but no sign……… I was missing him...... Then I heard The Chuckle away over the other side of the venue (behind a pillar). Makes yer heart melt, that chuckle !
So that you can understand the general landscape, I need to include Father-in-Law who was 95 on his very last birthday, lived with us for five years, and died in mid-July 2008. He steadily developed severe dementia and was a Major Feature over the start of this blog - and perhaps THE Main Reason for ChickPea needing to rustle up Souffle. I guess he will continue with us here for a while to come. To Protect The Innocent, and because he was Ace at dominoes, he's dubbed “Domino Joe” – or DJ.
Ms Mog was my beloved ancient feline companion for 20 years. Her company and very presence sustained me. We miss her now she is gone.
Mr Mutt is a rescue dog ‘with issues’ (mostly involving his teeth, ChickPea and blood) - specialist advice helped us learn to live more safely with him, and we love him dearly, but have to both accept and remember that he is unpredictable. As a friend said , "Dogs bite".
Then there are ‘The Ladies’ - 'Eena', 'Meena', 'Myna' and 'Moe'. The first 2 arrived on Saturday 5th July 2008, ate all the slugs they could find and gave us wee brown eggs - so in October2008 we welcomed 2 more. Initially intended as therapy for Domino Joe, our flock assist our rehabilitation from the caring role, deafen our neighbours, make sure we get exercise trying to catch them, and sometimes give us eggs. And - they make us laugh - time, and time, and time again.
And now Mr Mew has joined the menagerie. 9 weeks old when he arrived, this small while and tabby CatLet on a skateboard is further enriching and re-designing our lives.
